Newsroom Project with Meld Magazine
("Fun activities around Melbourne that students can do in groups for under $50" Full article can be read here.)
Trinity College Foundation Studies (TCFS) has specially devised a group project together with Melbourne's International Student Magazine, Meld Magazine for students, that has taken up Media as a elective, to be able to experience firsthand working in a newsroom by letting students write up their own article to be published on Meld Magazine's website.
Students is given a chance to be able to work directly with Meld Magazine's editor-in-cheif, Hieu Chau, as he joins us in tutorial classes and personally guides and directs us with methods of approaching our article.
Our group members were also able to partake discussions with Hieu personally and create a story ideas to write for the article.
Our group concluded on a topic that we were all mutually interested in and started contributing different possible ideas/ contents for the article on a shared Google document (Right). We decided to narrow down and focus on 3 exciting activities that is suitable for the weekend, specifically under the budget of $50. From there, we took on responsibility for each activities that we've deemed appropriate for the article and started drafting on how to write our activities respectively. |
Upon completion of our drafts, our group got back to Hieu for submission and after Hieu's editing and final approval to our article, our article was posted onto Meld Magazine website. The article can be viewed here. |
